Find a COVID-19 testing provider prior to your cruise:
If you need to find a provider who performs pre-travel or in-travel testing before you go on a cruise, visit TestForTravel.com, an easy-to-use online tool where you can find providers who perform COVID-19 testing worldwide. Simply enter your zip code, or a city and country, and the website will show you locations, contact information and testing hours. It also allows you to search by test type (PCR or antigen).

Do all passengers have to be compulsorily vaccinated before cruising?
As of April 22, all passengers, regardless of their vaccination status, will be able to sail without testing. Please refer to the specific requirements for each country.

Are boosters mandatory?
Local regulations may request certain requirements for entry into certain countries. Be sure to check country-specific travel requirements for country-specific requirements.

Can children travel on your cruises if they are not vaccinated?

Yes, we accept all passengers to travel with us, regardless of their vaccination status and age, and without requiring any type of test or mask. Please refer to the specific requirements for each country.

What travel documents do I need to complete to board the ship?

All passengers are advised to observe and comply with current travel restrictions.

Passengers may provide the following:

  • Documentation required by the country in which the guest is boarding. This may include, but is not limited to, proof of a negative COVID-19 test result or booster dose certificate. These requirements vary by country and are the responsibility of the guest and take precedence over our policy.
  • Completed health questionnaire (prior to boarding);
  • Standard travel documentation, including passport or any required visas.

How do I know if there are any travel restrictions that could affect my cruise?

We are closely monitoring developments in the international health landscape and, to the extent itineraries are affected, we will notify affected passengers in a timely manner and update our booking requirements. Additional travel restrictions may be imposed for certain nationalities or countries depending on the rapidly evolving health landscape. We strongly advise all passengers to remain abreast of current travel requirements and guidelines applicable to their home country.

Will any of the countries to be visited during the cruise require additional testing to gain access to the country?

We will comply with all local regulations in all destinations we visit. These regulations are constantly evolving and should any additional testing be required at a port of call, we will inform all passengers in advance. For more information, please refer to the specific requirements for each voyage.

*Please note that should a port included as part of an itinerary require additional COVID-19 testing for passengers to disembark, Norwegian Cruise Line will facilitate onboard testing.

Will I have to sign a COVID-19 liability waiver form to board the vessel?

All passengers must agree to the terms and conditions of our passenger ticket contract. Passengers must also agree to abide by all cruise line health and safety protocols and acknowledge that they are aware of the risks associated with COVID-19 both during the voyage and during shore experiences. Passengers who do not agree to these terms and conditions will not be allowed to board.

What happens if I become ill on board?

Passengers who develop symptoms of COVID-19 while on board should immediately contact the onboard medical center for instructions. Onboard medical consultation and treatment is available for all respiratory illnesses, for which there is a charge. There will be medical centers equipped to test for COVID-19 onboard and, if a positive case is identified, contact tracing of that person will be initiated immediately and treatment will be simultaneously applied.

We have also enhanced our onboard medical capabilities with additional personnel and improved facilities. This includes increased intensive care unit capacity, new and upgraded equipment, collaborative arrangements with shore-based medical institutions, telemedicine services and robust additional consultation and treatment options. The onboard medical centers also have an ample supply of the most common prescription drugs and remedies, as well as virus detection equipment.

If a passenger tests positive for COVID-19 while on board, what costs are covered?

We offer standard onboard medical consultations and treatment at a charge to address COVID-19 related illnesses. If a guest follows health and safety protocols and tests positive during their cruise, the Cruise Line will help coordinate necessary onboard COVID-19-related medical consultation, standard/common prescription drugs, and required land-based quarantine.

Note: COVID-19 antiviral therapies are available onboard and will be charged to the passenger's account. While the cruise line will assist in coordinating land-based quarantine accommodations if necessary, payment of all expenses incurred during any period of mandatory isolation, including hotel stays, will be at the passenger's expense. We recommend that all passengers submit a claim to their travel insurance company for reimbursement. Norwegian Cruise Line will review reimbursement requests in the event that the insurance company denies the claim or the passenger does not have travel insurance.

What testing and treatment capabilities exist onboard?

We have enhanced our onboard medical capabilities with additional staffing based on capacity and with new upgraded equipment and improved facilities.
All vessels have the capability to conduct COVID-19 testing onboard and process the results in-house. We have increased the capacity of the intensive care units (ICU) on board and our ICUs are equipped with drips, IV treatments, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, pacemakers and respirators.

If necessary, we also rely on the collaboration of medical institutions ashore to provide clinical advice and assistance when required.
The ships have an onboard laboratory, which can carry out complete blood counts, blood biochemistry, coagulation tests and flu tests. The onboard medical centers also have an ample supply of the most common prescription drugs and remedies.

Can I explore on my own while in port?

Our priority is always to offer the best experience to our passengers, and after working closely with our partners in the different destinations, we anticipate that passengers will be free to explore some ports of call on their own. It should be noted that this is highly dependent on local health authorities and evolving regulations, which are subject to change. In order to ensure maximum safety for our passengers, we recommend that you take the shore excursions organized by our company, as this is a more controlled environment for you to enjoy your time at each destination.

Will I have to take the COVID-19 test in order to embark on the second leg of a round trip?

No, passengers will not be required to undergo antigen testing for COVID-19 before proceeding on the second leg of a non-stop journey unless they are symptomatic, unvaccinated or required by a specific country.
